Terms and Conditions, Amendments & Cancellation Policy
The terms and conditions below applies to all bookings made through the hotel website, phone or any agent
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
The check-in starts from 3pm until 11.30pm. Any late arrivals must be arranged directly by phoning the hotel.Early check-ins are possible based on availability and must be arranged in advance, charges apply.
All hotel guests are required to check-out by 11am. Late check-outs are possible based on availability and must be arranged in advance, charges apply.
The Cumberland Hotel reserves the right to request guest ID (passport, driving license) prior to check in and taking payment or upon arrival. Failure to provide this will result in booking cancellation. This is to ensure the safety of all the guests on the premises and any fraudulent activity. A valid payment card (credit or debit) are required to be presented upon arrival and details must be recorded on the check-in form and be appropriately linked to the person who made the booking. Failure to provide either may prevent the Hotel from allowing check-in. We reserve the right to charge your credit/debit card up to £500 for any damage done to your room during your stay or for any items that are missing when you leave. Charges are proportionate to the offense.
In the event the room key and/or tag is lost, a £50 charge will be applied to recover the cost of replacing the key and lock to maintain security.
AGE POLICY
Any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to stay in the Hotel.
Children aged between 0 - 2 years old stay for free with a parent in existing bedding. A maximum of one child per double bed. Cot bed(s) are available upon request only.
CANCELLATION AND DEPOSIT POLICY
Single, Double and Twin: Advance Purchase - Fully pre-paid and charged on the day of booking, Non-Refundable.
Triple, Quadruple and Family Suite: Deposit Policy- 50% of the total price charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.The remaining balance will be charged on the day of arrival.
Single, Double and Twin Room 5FREE: You may cancel free of charge until 5 days before arrival.You will be charged the total price of the reservation if you cancel in the 5 days before arrival.Prepayment: You will be charged a prepayment of the total price of the reservation 5 days before arrival.
AMENDMENTS
If, after your booking has been accepted and confirmed, you wish to change any element of the booking, we shall do our utmost to satisfy your requirements provided we receive notification in writing from the person who made the booking.However, not all amendments can be guaranteed due to unavailability, short notice and advance purchase rates. Any bookings made through a third party must be amended by the third party directly.
Depending on the nature of the change(s), Cumberland Hotel reserves the right to make a charge if it occurs within 8 weeks of the commencement date of your stay at the Cumberland Hotel.
Any additional person(s) added to the booking must be communicated in advance to confirm availability and will incur an additional charge.
Unable to travel due to ill health: If you’re unable to travel due to ill-health, contact your insurance provider or check your insurance policy thoroughly to see how ill-health could impact. We strongly advise customers to take a travel insurance. Where possible we will assist to amend your booking to a later date, subject to availability.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
We aim to honour any special requests received but these cannot be guaranteed. To confirm any special requests left on your booking please contact the Hotel directly.
PARKING
We provide limited paid car parking facilities at a charge of £15 per car per night at the Cumberland Hotel on a first-come first-serve basis.Please book your space at reception on arrival and display a parking voucher inside your car in front of the windscreen, parking cannot be booked in advance. We cannot guarantee a space for everyone. If the car park is full then guests are referred to locate paid street parking spaces nearby.
We do not accept vehicles such as vans, lorry and buses that are bigger than the parking spaces (2x4 meter).
Management cannot accept responsibility for damage of any vehicles and ownerspark their vehicles at their own risk.
GUEST BEHAVIOUR
We ask all of those entering our premises to abide by the following guidelines to ensure that guests have the most pleasant experience possible.
We are a non-smoking establishment as detailed in the Prohibition of Smoking in Certain Premises (Scotland) Regulations 2006. Smoking and vaping or using e-cigarettes alike, are strictly prohibited inside our establishment, be it guest rooms or communal areas. Designated smoking and vaping areas are located outside, where ashtrays are wall mounted for convenience.
Illegal activities, such as taking prohibited substances or downloading prohibited materials, are not tolerated in any areas of our property.
If you are found to be in breach of this, a £200 fine will be applied and you may be asked to leave the premises and if required, reported to the relevant authorities.
We do not tolerate any kind of antisocial behaviour towards our team. This includes any threatening or abusive behaviour, or any unwanted comments and/or advances. If our team experiences any sort of behaviour that can be attributed to the above, the offender will be asked to leave the premises and, if required, reported to the relevant authorities.
We ask all our guests to treat the premises and all items within it with respect and to not cause any willful damage to anything. In the event of damages to our property, we reserve the right to charge the card used for reservation to recoup the cost of the damages.
Refusing our staffing team access to the room you are occupying when required is not allowed. Our housekeeping team is required to have access to your room at least once every three days.
Pets are not allowed on our premises, with the exception of service/assistance animals.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
We do not tolerate any tampering with our fire alarm system or emergency equipment.
All visitors are asked to abide by Health & Safety regulations and not bring any potentially hazardous or dangerous materials/equipment onto our premises. Cooking or food preparation, other than use of the kettle provided to boil water and especially by bringing items onto our premises is strictly prohibited inside guest rooms.
GROUPS
Group enquiries/bookings for special celebrations must be made directly with the Hotel and guests are informed that they must abide by the hotel rules and regulations as detailed above.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please be aware that the hotel does not have a lift or escalator and rooms on higher levels are only accessible by stairs, therefore if you require a room on the ground floors please specify/request this in advance as last minute requests cannot be guaranteed.
FREE WIFI is available throughout the hotel for your convenience, however, while we strive to provide uninterrupted Wi-Fi access, the service may occasionally be unavailable due to technical issues, maintenance, or factors beyond our control.
COMPLAINTS
Any complaints regarding your stay should be made to the Duty Manager so that they can be recorded and resolved in a timely manner. Kindly leave your name and number so the Manager can make contact should an investigation be required.
